Farewell Mioa...Farewell our friend

"What was the happiest moment of your Phd life?"

Miao: The experiments with the hand worked as expected.

"Do you remember the saddest moment of your Phd life?"

Miao: There is a huge gap between the fingertips of hand and the objects and nobody in the paper dares to admit this fact!

“Is there anything you would like to do that you haven’t done yet?”

Miao: I will make a new robotic hand and save all the poor grasping researchers' time. I will do this in the future.

“What will you miss the most from your time as a PhD student in LASA?”

Miao: All the nice discussions with the lab's members during meetings, lunchs, seminars, talks and drinking breaks.

“What advice can you give to new PhD students?”

Miao: Do something which you really enjoy!

"What do you feel most guilty about?"

Miao: I didn't change the grasping world too much. Although, I've known that there is something wrong with the grasping world.

Farewellour friend:

Farewell the most positive person I've ever met.Yes, her name is Ajung Moon.

"What was the happiest moment of your Phd life?"

- It's coming... I can feel it... Getting my PhD will be the moment I think.

"Do you remember the happiest moment of your Phd life?"

- There are several moments other than the one I am expecting (see above). A very consistently happy moment comes the day after I put down “Do Nothing” on my task list for a day and actually followed through. Guilt-free 'do nothing' time is much more enjoyable than time spent doing nothing without intending to do so.

“If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?”

- I would have signed up to stay for the full year (and a month) first time around. ;)

“What’s surprised you most about being a phd student/Postdoc/Professor?”

- The fact that the world doesn't wait for you to finish your PhD, and that your life shouldn't wait for you to finish your PhD either.

GooDBye Joel...FareWell

LASA: “What will you miss the most from your time as a PhD student in LASA?”

Joel: The well-deserved pitcher shared at Satellite after a week of labour.

LASA: “Is there anything you would like to do that you haven’t done yet?”

Joel : Climb a 4000m, parachute, learn to sail a boat, fly a plane, write a novel, compose a song, and much more... Fortunately, life is long

LASA: “What advice can you give to new PhD students?”

Joel: Shoot for the moon! But aim well, 'cause if you miss, you'll end up co-orbiting the Sun alongside the Earth, living out your days alone in the void, within sight of the lush, welcoming home you left behind. [adapted from xkcd.com]
